Discussion and Action Groups

  Forum: The Forum is an adult discussion group who explores a wide variety of subjects in order to better understand our world and ourselves.  A very Wide range of topics is covered: religion, spirituality, history, the interdependence of life, social and economic issues, current events, environmental concerns, science, economics and philosophy.  We welcome the input of every participant, and feel that the Forum should be an important part of the total church experience.  The Forum meets from 9:00 to 10:15 AM every Sunday, except for holidays.  

UUYA (Unitarian Universalist Young Adults): This is a creative, informal group for ages 18-35 (composed of mostly OSU students) who engage in personal sharing, food, and fun-filled activities.  They meet at the UU Church sanctionary during the academic year, Wednesdays at 8:00 PM for refreshments followed by a program at 8:30. 

Adult and Religious Education Classes: The adult education classes designed to explore, share, and learn about our Unitarian Universalist faith and values.   Call the church office to learn about our current or upcoming course offerings.  We have offered "Roots", "Articulating Your UU Faith", "The Enneagram", “Conversations with the Bible", and “Understanding the Bible”.  

Children's Religious Education Classes: The Children's Religious Education classes and child care for infants and toddlers are available every Sunday during the service.  These education classes are preceded by their own "Children's Chapel" at 10:15 AM and a short visit with the congregation.    

The Care Umbrella: This group is the Unitarian Universalist Church of Stillwater Oklahoma Care Umbrella. It's purpose is to assist in the care of members of our congregation by volunteers from our congregation.

Fun with Music Group meets the first Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. to play and sing informally. Bring instruments, songs or just bring yourself.

Hiking Group meets the fourth Sunday of each month at 12:15 at the church to explore the outdoors together. Hikes are usually local and accommodate different levels of fitness.

The Earth Spirituality Group holds a reverence for the Earth and sacredness of all living things, sees all life as interconnected, and strives to attune ourselves to the natural rhythm of the life force.  We are inspired by the movements of the sun, moon, stars, and Earth's changing seasons.  We celebrate the Wheel of the Year, which marks the Sun's journey across the sky, the solstices, equinoxes, and the cycles of nature, representing seasonal birth, death, and rebirth.  We meet about every 6 weeks for celebrations.

Women’s Souper Lunch Group meets the second Wednesday of the month at noon for fellowship and discussion. Bring a sack lunch. This group is larger and not focused on individual issues as much as the covenant group.
